Former Oracle employee, Ismail Akudi joins successful web and mobile app development company to drive further growth
Leicester-based Xibis has appointed a second Business Development Manager to join its team of 18 staff. Ismail Akudi will take on a strategic role to help grow the business by identifying and managing new business opportunities, and securing new customers for the company’s range of bespoke web and mobile applications.
Ismail brings around 10 years’ experience in the IT industry to his new role. He began his career in technical roles and transitioned into business development and sales. He has worked for both large organisations such as computer technology giant, Oracle Corporation, and smaller, innovative companies.
Xibis has been developing bespoke software solutions since 1998 and recent customers include Imray - the leading publisher of nautical charts, books and apps, Touchpoint - a specialist in employee benefits communication, and trentbarton - one of the largest independent bus operators in the UK.
Ismail said: “My role is a strategic one, pivotal to the growth of Xibis. It centres on developing the business by identifying and managing new business opportunities, acquiring new customers, and communicating and selling additional products or services to existing ones. I’ll also be identifying and creating partnerships that will help to drive revenue.
“I’m excited to join Xibis because it’s such a vibrant and innovative company. I wanted to be part of an organisation at the cutting edge of the technology that we use in so many aspects of our lives (often without realising). Xibis is a real innovator in web and app development, IoT, bespoke software, augmented reality, virtual reality and much more in a wide variety of industry sectors.”
Xibis Managing Director, Neil Morjaria, added: “We’re ambitious to grow the company and to do this we need to improve the sales engine to help drive growth. We chose to look for a more experienced BDM, who is able to bring their experience, knowledge and insights, and Ismail fits the bill.”
Xibis recently announced three other new appointments - two additional developers to specialise in Android apps and iOS apps, and a third person as a Technical Business Analyst to handle increased leads from potential clients.
