Razor - a technology company specialising in AI and automation tools to supercharge business capability - continues to thrive; growing their team with three new (remote) hires, James Croft, Patrick Murray and Matt Christie.

During lockdown, the Razor team has taken the opportunity to flex and adapt to new ways of working head on, with CEO Jamie Hinton relishing the challenge to improve on current methods of hiring, and get creative with new processes.

The first new recruit to be virtually welcomed to the team was James Croft, who has joined Razor as a Software Lead. James is recognised as a ‘Microsoft Most Valuable Professional’ in the Windows Development areena; awarded for his services to the public community through open source contributions, StackOverflow contributions, speaking at developer conferences and user groups, blog posts, and video tutorials helping others learn to code.

Patrick Murray has been recruited as Head of Data, Analytics and AI. Patrick will provide direction, and fine tune Razor’s data and analytics offering; defining the route to market, reviewing current clients and forming improved packages.

Joining the team also is Matt Christie, who has taken on the role of Test Lead. As a company at the forefront of technology, Matt will be ensuring the quality of Razor’s diverse projects; from computer vision and machine learning to API’s and mobile apps. Matt will be conducting existing testing methods, as well as introducing new patterns and practices. Alongside this, he’ll be providing training/mentoring to both testers and developers, and increasing the number of automated tests for new projects.

As someone who has grown their business over the past few months, during testing economic times, Jamie believes that there has never been a better moment to invest in the people within your company, commenting:

“Now is the time to look after your team, to invest, protect and grow - it’s in times like these that people’s strengths emerge, and this is something I’ve picked up on. We have been able to hire at this time because we have found people who have the exact qualities we need, that are able to adapt and innovate in the face of change. This fills me with excitement of what we can achieve going forward.”
