Managed Enterprise Technologies (MET), continues to develop an awareness of cybercrime through a series of animated videos, including characters “Metman and Cybershark”, to reach a younger audience about the dangers of cybercrime and online abuse.

Unfortunately, given the trends the younger generation are gaining access to social media platforms and mobile devices, the scourge of cyberbullying will likely get much worse before it ever gets better. OnlineMom.com now reports, the average age for obtaining a mobile phone is 11.6 years old. The quest for solutions to cyberbullying ranges from school intervention strategies to parent intervention strategies to legal consequences and it is clear there is no quick-fix to this problem.

Managing Director, Ian Vickers says: “MET has decided to play a supporting role in the educational drive by seeking to produce more videos and potentially, games to run on a mobile and online platforms, containing story lines that will engage, educate and inform.

Cybercrime and cyber related issues are a global problem, however in particular it is having a dramatic effect on the younger generation. Younger internet users are less aware of how they may become a victim of cybercrime.

Cybercrime incidents have a devastating effect on children and parents and alarmingly has contributed to a marked rise of under 18's committing suicide.

MET is helping to tackle this problem by enhancing the UK’s awareness and ability to reduce cyberattacks.

MET want to enhance defences to cyber related crime by improving education and awareness.

The simple takeaway – 5 step guide to ensuring better cyber security practices:
