One of Manchester’s fastest-growing IT companies has acquired a new business and welcomed a head of commercial and operations to drive further growth in 2022.

Linten Technologies, which has sites in the Northern Quarter and Cannock in the Midlands, bought Newcastle-under-Lyme-based Prompt PC in a deal to enhance its position as one of the UK’s leading managed IT service providers.

The agreement will see all of Prompt PC’s current five-strong workforce retained, adding to Linten’s growing manpower.

As many businesses continue to evolve the way they work to a hybrid, even remote working model, the team at Linten has organically grown rapidly supporting and delivering IT business solutions, VOIP phones systems, cyber security and cloud-based CCTV.

Linten, which has enjoyed an average of 26% year-on-year turnover growth over the last five years, provides IT services to hundreds in a range of sectors, including manufacturing, retail and finance.

Prompt PC, meanwhile, has established itself as one of Staffordshire’s leading IT security and Microsoft 365 specialists to businesses across the county, adding specialist knowledge in the manufacturing, construction and retails industries.

The combined turnover of both firms is £1.5 million.

Linten CEO and founder Steven Allan said the move was part of the company’s wider growth strategy.

“I am naturally delighted to welcome everyone at Prompt PC to the Linten family,”
he said.
“Both companies share an enviable reputation for client satisfaction and delivering best-in-class technical solutions.

“We have been helping businesses use technology to their advantage for the last 23 years.

“As we grow our valued clients can expect the same quality, personalised service that they have always enjoyed whilst drawing on an even wider breadth of knowledge and experience.

“Although this is the first step in a wider growth strategy for Linten, we will always retain our customer-first approach and value for every business we work with.”

As part of the company’s expansion, Linten also welcomes new head of commercial and operations Danny Ballantyne to its team.

The former senior project manager at the NHS will manage the daily operational functions of the business to ensure sustained commercial success. Ballantyne said he was relishing the new challenge.

“This is a crucial and exciting time for Linten,”
he said.
“Having rapidly grown organically and with further expansion into Staffordshire through our recent acquisition, we are in a prime position to cement Linten as an industry leader.

“I am really looking forward to driving yet more growth whilst elevating our reputation as the go-to IT service provider over the coming years.”

Allan added:

“Danny brings a wealth of experience across the public and private sector. We have no doubt he will be a key part of growing and driving quality in both businesses.

“His work helping businesses evolve and grow includes major projects with organisations including Stockport CCG, transitioning them to the integrated care system model that will be adopted across Greater Manchester in 2022.

“It’s this strategic thinking and change management experience that will not only help build Linten but provide valuable insight for each of our 475 clients across Manchester and the Midlands.”
