Independent technology and engineering recruitment firm ISL has reported its highest ever turnover following a successful drive to attract top talent and a raft of new client wins.

The award-winning recruitment consultancy, based in Bristol, has seen its revenues jump by 21 per cent during the last year to £3.8m.

ISL has also doubled its new contract business during the last 12 months and has seen its average revenue from clients increase by 26 per cent. A large part of this growth has come from ISL’s technology scale-up clients across the UK.

The company, which was founded in 2007 by recruiter Henry Keeys who runs ISL with director Alan Furley, grew by five staff during 2018, taking the total number of employees to 33.

ISL director Alan Furley said:

“Our focus on attracting top talent and developing our staff to achieve their full potential has really paid off and has helped drive growth in the business.

“Our success is also down to the sheer hard work of all our staff and our business development strategy, which included involvement in a number of high-profile industry events to address some of the recruitment challenges facing STEM-based companies.

“This has all helped to strengthen further ISL’s position as a leading recruiter serving the IT and engineering sectors.

“Our aim in 2019 is to build on our work with scale-up clients, advising them on their recruitment planning while they cope with significant organisational change. We will be hosting a number of events to share industry best practice, starting with a diversity in tech event in London.”

ISL has seen a significant increase in the number of potential employees applying to work at the firm. Last year it appointed learning and development specialist Oli Hartley to expand ISL’s personal development programme and lead its revamped recruitment academy.

This followed a successful internal recruitment programme aimed at attracting higher quality candidates to the firm which last year came fourth in the small business category of the UK Best Workplace awards.
