Innovation Birmingham Campus-based indoor positioning solution provider, Proxicon, has announced an international partnership with Finnish intelligent location specialists, Quuppa.

Proxicon provide comprehensive proximity marketing, real time tracking and indoor navigation solutions across four key sectors; Education, Infrastructure, Healthcare and Retail. This cloud based service enables the user to track and record key information relating to their sector and gain a better understanding of trends and demographics.

Quuppa supply real-time location systems that use Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) to determine the location of a person or object within a few centimetres.

Tom Kawka, Managing Director at Proxicon, said: “We are ecstatic to be working in partnership with Quuppa to further extend our service into the international marketplace. This collaboration will enable us to target new sectors and demonstrate the benefits of monitoring behaviour and optimising products or services in response to how users engage with it.”

This on-going partnership will enable Proxicon to extend its services into the broader commercial market, by integrating their cloud software into Quuppa’s physical hardware; providing a 360-degree tracking service suitable for a variety of industries.

Kimmo Kalliola, CEO and Co-Founder at Quuppa, said: “We are looking forward to working with Proxicon in building business critical applications for multiple industry segments, which are powered by Quuppa’s real-time accurate location systems.”

Proxicon are one of 12 start-ups recently accepted on to the Serendip Smart City Incubator at Innovation Birmingham’s new 42,149 sq ft iCentrum building. They join the Intelligent Mobility quarter and will co-locate with commercial partners, Centro and the Transport Systems Catapult, to refine and extend its offering into a broader commercial market
