Today the UK’s number one kitchen retailer, Wren Kitchens, has officially opened its 79th showroom at Ventura Retail Park investing over £1million and creating 23 new jobs.

VIPs such as The Mayor of Tamworth, Cllr Richard Kingstone and MP for Tamworth, Christopher Pincher, were welcomed to the opening with a tour of the 10,000sq.ft. former Poundstretcher building.

The Mayor of Tamworth officially cut the ribbon as it opened its doors to customers for the first time and was presented with a £500 donation from Wren Kitchens to his official charity, Tamworth Have a Heart. The charity was set up in 2016 to provide Community Public Access Defibrillators (CPAD) throughout the town of Tamworth with a goal to have them available every few hundred yards.

The showroom encompasses the largest display of kitchens in the area and for the first time, an interior design studio can be pre-booked by local interior designers. The studio has a large range of samples, design books and inspirational mood boards, as well as Apple iMac computers and comfortable surroundings to assist in the design of any dream kitchen.

Wren Kitchens General Showroom Manager, Peter O’Meara, is taking the reins at Tamworth after relocating from the nearby Merry Hill Showroom.

He said:

“It has taken three months to completely transform the building and the substantial amount we’ve invested demonstrates our commitment to the local area.

Our friendly team are looking forward to welcoming the community to the official opening on Friday, where they’ll be treated with celebratory nibbles and drinks whilst being inspired with our array of kitchen design ideas.”

Visitors will be able to see kitchens in full 3D, using virtual reality headsets and test the latest smart kitchen technology, including Alexa and Google Home Hub, to control kitchen lighting and appliances.

Mayor of Tamworth, Cllr Richard Kingstone, said:

“Wren Kitchens is a thriving business and it’s wonderful to see them employing local people and investing in the local area.

“The showroom is outstanding and has been transformed to a high standard - it’s a real asset to the town. After a tour it’s offered me so much inspiration with the variety of technology on display including virtual reality.”

Rt Hon Christopher Pincher, Member of Parliament for Tamworth, said:

“It’s great to see that this beautiful showroom is bringing local employment including better skilled jobs where they encourage progression.

“Additionally, increased business is another benefit and it’s great to see how Wren has transformed it into an inspirational space where you can have any kitchen of your dreams designed.”

A focal point of the showroom is industrial displays with a stainless-steel island and urban style units. There is also a comprehensive appliance demo area, where customers will be able to use the very latest interactive display technology to discover various appliance benefits.

This is the 79th showroom opened by Wren Kitchens since launching 10 years ago. Wren manufactures more than 2,000 kitchens a week at three production facilities in North Lincolnshire and Yorkshire. Wren has recently announced plans to invest £120million in a fourth manufacturing facility in the Humber, creating 1,200 new jobs.

This year, Wren was named the UK’s Best Place to Work by jobs website Indeed.co.uk and it has been awarded the FIRA International Gold Certification by the Furniture Industry Research Association for its exemplary standard of products and installation services.
