WILKO, one of Britain’s best loved value home and garden retailers, is opening a new store at The Fort Shopping Park on 14 January at 9am.
The new store will create 62 new jobs in the area and will join Debenhams, H&M, Topman and Boots on the retail park.
The 14,475 Sq ft store will offer ranges across homeware and furniture, garden and outdoor, DIY and decorating, making it the perfect one-stop-shop for local people to run, repair, maintain, improve and live in their homes.
Wilko Fort Branch manager, Carole Ballinger, said: “The Fort is a popular shopping destination with a strong retail offering. We’re excited to open the new store in January and generate more than 60 jobs for people in the local area.
“We’re confident that our offering of quality products at everyday low prices will become an essential part of people’s weekly shopping mix.”
As part of the brand’s immersion into the local community, it supported the Birmingham Mail’s Christmas campaign with homeless charity St. Basils. Wilko supplied the goods bought with the £4,000 raised by the #HomeAtChristmas campaign, and facilitated the delivery of the items just in time for Christmas.
Founded in 1930 as Wilkinson Stores by J K Wilkinson, Wilko is one of the UK’s largest and best-loved retailers. Wilko Fort will be the family business’ 382nd store in the UK.
