Gloucester’s favourite pet supplier Angell Pets is re-locating from the Docks to Hucclecote following a deal brokered by Bruton Knowles.

The store will open in the former Barclays Bank premises in a mixed commercial and residential location at Glenville Parade.

William Matthews from Bruton Knowles’ Gloucester office said:

“We helped owner Richard Angell move to the previous location at Southgate and were happy he called us back for this new move to Hucclecote.”

The Barclays branch at Hucclecote closed in June 2017 as part of a nationwide programme aimed at reducing the number of branches. It offers 1,550 sq ft of space configured as a bank.

Owner Richard Angell is happy with the unusual new premises.

“The bank counter has gone and we needed seven people to shift the vault door! There is a large car park so it should be easier for people to get to us.”

He said the Hucclecote branch was nearer the store’s original location in Abbeymead and he was looking forward to meeting old customers

“We are opening to the public at the end of January with a full opening in February.”
