A leading online flooring retailer has completed a £150,000 investment to launch a new 5,000 sq.ft store in Coventry.

Connection Flooring has launched its fourth trade counter for its Direct Wood Flooring brand, on Pilot Business Park, in the city.

The opening has created three jobs in-store, with further expansion expected at Connection Flooring’s North East-based warehousing operations and head office.

Direct Wood Flooring offers a huge range of solid and engineered wood, luxury vinyl tiles and laminate flooring.

The launch follows a sequence of store openings from Connection Flooring in Birtley, Tyne and Wear, Thurrock and Bracknell. The company is targeting further openings across the UK during the next six months, as part of its ambitious expansion plans.

Dan Foskett, Managing Director of Connection Flooring, said: “This is a significant investment for the company as we look to increase our geographical presence throughout the UK. It also marks the third successful store launch outside of our traditional North East roots, which will strengthen our links across the country, while maintaining a strong online presence.”

Established in 2012, Connection Flooring, which comprises four flooring companies, delivers cost-effective flooring solutions for commercial and domestic markets, including wood flooring, artificial grass, rugs, vinyl, carpets and outdoor furniture. The company operates its own transport fleet from six distribution centres across the UK.

As a result of the investment and subsequent job creation, Connection Retail’s staff count has risen to more than 90 employees, with the firm expected to increase this figure to over 100 by the close of the year.

Dan added: “We are hoping to launch further stores in the coming months, building on this period of positivity, and to create more job opportunities at each trade counter, as well as to support our head office and transport operations. I am excited by the future of the company, and looking forward to building a thriving store in Coventry.”
