Bookbarn International is throwing open its doors on Bank Holiday Weekend Sunday and Monday May 5-6 for its latest Kilo Sale.

An astonishing half a ton of books were sold in the inaugural Kilo Sale this time last year and Chief Executive Nick Bates, who joined in January this year, is hoping to smash the record this time round.

“There will be a range of titles of all genres available and visitors will be able to buy straight from the shelf. Rare and antiquarian books in our Darwin Room will be available at 20 per cent discount.

“With so many books to choose from book lovers are bound to find some hidden gems.”

The popular Full Stop café and the shop will be open as normal.

Books will be sold at £2 per kilo. Entry is free and the event kicks off at 11am on Sunday.

Founded in 2000, Hallatrow-based Bookbarn ships orders from the warehouse in rural Somerset to customers all over the world.
