..maintain industry-leading practices at Staffordshire base in new ESG report

The UK's market leader for taps and showers,Bristan Group, has today released its first Environmental, Social and Governance report outlining the organisation's ongoing commitments to a series of sustainability initiatives.

The Staffordshire-based group, which is a trusted manufacturer of high-quality, water-efficient products, has announced plans to reduce the organisation's carbon footprint, maintain its status as a zero-to-landfill company, and decrease the level of water usage across the UK.

The report provides an overview of the company's progress to date and details of activities around energy and water efficiency, waste management, and social responsibility, including:

  • Making a positive environmental impact — Bristan Group outlines its commitment to reducing its carbon footprint each year and to a continuation of its partnership with the Carbon Trust on its Route Net Zero Standard.

  • Improvements in energy efficiency — The introduction of energy-efficient practices at Bristan Group has significantly decreased and will continue to reduce carbon emissions. This includes the installation of electric vehicle charging bays, the replacement of office lighting with LED lighting, the switch to a hybrid-only fleet and the installation of solar panels at its headquarters in Tamworth, Staffordshire.

  • A zero-to-landfill organisation — Bristan Group's waste management practices will ensure that its 295 tonnes of waste each year are recycled, reused or repurposed.

  • Innovation in water efficiency — Reducing water usage and waste of water remains a top priority. As well as water-saving practices in its UKAS-accredited lab, Bristan Group has developed a comprehensive range of water-efficient and energy-saving products.

  • Commitments to social responsibility — Equal to its environmental commitments are Bristan Group's initiatives designed to support employees and local communities, such as the Bristan Pantry, a confidential service that provides packages of non-perishable goods, hygiene, and sanitary products.

  • Acting with integrity — Underpinning Bristan Group's sustainability initiatives is the organisation's Code of Ethics and a strong culture of compliance, ensuring that all activity complies with laws and industry standards. This includes commitments to ethical sourcing, anti-slavery and trafficking, compliance and accreditation and the gender pay gap.

Bristan Group's ambitions form part of a wider focus on sustainability across Masco Corporation, of which the group is part.

Speaking about the group's plans, Keith Allman, President and CEO at Masco, said:

"As a global leader in the design, manufacture and distribution of branded home improvement and building products, we believe in and continuously strive to deliver better living possibilities — for our homes, our environment and our community.
