A niche party supplies business has unveiled details of a major expansion to celebrate its landmark fifth anniversary.

Peacock Supplies in Stoke-on-Trent specialises in supplying affordable but high-quality partyware for multi-faith and ethnic events, with clients already including the likes of supermarket giant Morrison’s and Landmark Group.

It’s one of the select firms in the UK which supplies faith-based and ethnic partyware on a large scale and it is the only one offering as comprehensive a range – from Islamic, Hindu and Sikh events to Jewish and Chinese New Year celebrations.

Lockdown sales boom

When the March lockdown hit, she had feared that sales would drop as meetings with extended family and friends were banned. But, quite the opposite happened, as families embraced lockdown and continued to buy party supplies to celebrate with their immediate households instead.

On the back of a steady year-on-year sales growth, owner Sarah Gulfraz made the leap from renting warehouse space to buying her own in Tunstall during the pandemic, in September.

New warehouse purchase only part of expansion plan

Now 35-year-old Sarah, who is also mother to three young children, has extended her expansion plan with a relaunched website and expanded her ranges – that are all designed in-house – which she plans to continue to build upon through the coming months and into 2021.

Businesswoman Sarah said:

“I’m extremely proud of what I’ve created with Peacock Supplies, which I’ve built from the ground up over the last five years.

“Faith-based and ethnic party supplies is a specialist market, that’s not widely catered for in the UK, so I am keen to continue to expand on our niche offer so it’s even more comprehensive, and to build on our current number of big name stockists.

“Business growth has been steady, and lockdown didn’t have a negative impact so I’m excited to be able to reveal details of our expansion to celebrate our fifth anniversary of being in business and to be able to further invest in developing our base in Stoke-on-Trent.”

More growth in the pipeline for businesswoman

She added:

“We have just moved over into our own warehouse and I have brand new ranges in the pipeline with new cultural events that I’ll be creating partyware for to launch in the New Year.

“It’s a very exciting time for our company and, as I move forward with my expansion plan, I hope to be able to employ more staff from Staffordshire as well.”

Sarah also hopes to soon be working with other supermarket giants and chains to further increase the number of stockists for her goods in the UK as well as continuing to build her online offer.

Peacock Supplies provides ethnic and multi-faith themed tableware, balloons, decorations, lighting, stationery, gift packaging, as well as baking and novelty gifts. Many of their products are exclusive to Peacock Supplies and not found anywhere else on the market.
