Solihull-based housebuilder Tilia Homes Central has strengthened its regional team with the appointment of Chris Hollis as commercial director.

In his new role, Chris will oversee the business’ commercial division, concentrating on enforcing cost control and profitability within the department via a standardisation of procedures, value engineering of all sites, and putting partnership agreements in place to ensure labour and costs are controlled for existing and future developments.

Prior to joining Tilia, Chris worked his way up in the industry, starting as a trainee surveyor with a Birmingham-based construction company, whilst simultaneously gaining qualifications in building and construction. He then progressed through the ranks to surveying manager, before joining Crest Nicholson as commercial executive Where he supported in the 15-year regeneration of Lee Bank in Birmingham. Chris then joined McCarthy and Stone as commercial director for the West Midlands, before moving on to Davidsons Homes.

Darren Humphreys, managing director at Tilia Homes Central, said:

“We’re delighted to welcome Chris to the Tilia Central team to head up our commercial department. The business is experiencing an exciting period of growth following investment last year from Terra Firma - and with that comes a focus on refining processes to ensure maximum value and cost control across our developments.

“Chris has had an excellent career to date, having worked hard to climb up the construction ladder, and we’re thrilled he chose Tilia as his next career move.”

Chris adds:

“I’m so grateful to have joined Tilia Homes at an exciting time for the business, as it sets its eye on significant growth and ambition not only within the region, but the whole group. Tilia’s quality product and attractive portfolio of developments pulled me towards the business. I’m looking forward to supporting the team as commercial director, ensuring we maximise profitability on our sites, whilst ensuring a continued focus on producing quality homes.”
