South-west housing developer appointed to £8bn framework

Partnership housing developer Lovell, based locally in Bristol, has been appointed by the Homes and Communities Agency (HCA) to its new £8 billion national housing delivery panel.

The newly-launched four-year Delivery Partner Panel 3 (DPP3) framework covers the whole of England, apart from London. Panel members will be eligible to bid for contracts to deliver new-build homes on public sector land ranging from open market properties for sale, affordable housing and starter homes to homes for rent and extra care housing. There will also be opportunities to carry out refurbishment programmes for existing homes, including retrofit schemes designed to make properties more energy-efficient.

Lovell has been appointed to all five geographical regions of DPP3: South and South West; Midlands; North East Yorkshire and the Humber; North West and East and South East.

In the South and South West, DPP3 is expected to generate new-build housing contracts totalling £1.35 billion over the next four years.

Used by the HCA and other public sector bodies to speed up the process for appointing developers to undertake housing schemes, the panel system has now been in operation for seven years during which time it has delivered more than 43,500 new homes nationally. Lovell’s strong record as an established partnership housing developer saw the company also win places on both previous partner panels which streamline housing procurement by giving public sector bodies access to a pre-qualified list of housing developers.
