REDROW’S new interim sales director for the North West and North Wales, Simon Bennett, is a familiar face.

Simon was Redrow’s group marketing director for almost 10 years from 1998 before leaving to take on new challenges.

He has now re-joined Redrow for 12 months while head of sales Anna Evans Kerr is on maternity leave.

Simon explains:

“When I left Redrow in 2008 I wanted to get more actively involved in the sales side of the housing industry and was seeking a change from my established marketing role. I spent the next six-and-a-half years as a sales and marketing director for another North West housebuilder.

“I then opened and ran the northern business of a company providing specialist sales services to the new homes sector, before setting up my own new homes consulting business two years ago. In that role I’ve been providing support, guidance and insight to those involved in the new homes industry, from strategic marketing planning to sales training workshops and land appraisals. I was also a non-executive director of Prospect Homes.

“When the opportunity to take a fixed-term contract with Redrow arose it seemed like the perfect opportunity – it feels like coming home. It also gives me the chance to refresh my in-house sales skills.”

Based at Daresbury, in Cheshire, Simon will manage a team of areas sales managers, support staff and development-based sales consultants across Cheshire and parts of Merseyside, Greater Manchester and North Wales.

He will play a key role in preparing to launch major new developments such as the first phase of Daresbury Garden Village, a scheme which has outline consent for up to 850 new homes, and the 190-property Tabley Park, in Knutsford, both of which are due to go on sale during 2021.

Flagship developments like Woodford Garden Village, near Stockport, and King’s Moat Garden Village, in Chester, will also be under his supervision, as well as Allerton Gardens, in South Liverpool and Millstone View in Penymynydd, Flintshire.

Jason Newton, managing director of Redrow NW, said:

“When looking for an interim sales director to cover for Anna, Simon was the perfect candidate. He knows the Redrow business inside out and has the perfect blend of experience and expertise to carry us through what promises to be an exceptionally busy period with some very exciting new developments coming on stream.”

Married to Emma with teenage twins, Simon lives in South Manchester, just a stone’s throw from Redrow’s hugely popular Woodford Garden Village which is transforming the site of the old Woodford Aerodrome.
