A Midlands-based residential property developer has appointed a new procurement manager as the company presses ahead with ambitious growth plans.

John Harris joins Prosperity Group, developers and sellers of new homes and buy-to-let apartments to a global investor audience, with more than 30 years’ commercial experience.

He has worked with some of the world’s largest brands, including Kodak, P&G and Osram, trading with large DIY retailers and building supply groups, and has managed procurement teams in the development of robust supply chains in the UK, Europe and Far East.

Joe Billingham, CEO of The Prosperity Group, said Harris’s professional experience will support Prosperity’s existing developments and the expansion plans.

“As a developer that is committed to delivering high-quality new build homes, securing our supply chain, developing and standardising of our build specifications and group buy downs is essential,”

he said.

“Ensuring we can continue to deliver homes in line with completion deadlines also forms a key part of our house builder expansion plans, so having someone on board with John’s first-class experience will enable us to do all of that.

“He will be an integral part of Prosperity's house building, bringing his wealth of experience and supply chain connections to the group, and I’m looking forward to him playing his role in the success of the business.”

Founded in Birmingham in 2007, the Prosperity group of companies, which is based in Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, has a portfolio of 41 new-build and conversion projects with a gross development value (GDV) of more than £450 million.
