Housebuilder stalwart Keith Simmons has assumed the role of managing director at Taylor Wimpey Bristol following a total of 27 years with the business.

Managing director of the region between 2013 and 2015, Simmons has returned to the position following five years as divisional managing director of the Wales and West and subsequently Midlands division.

Having started his career at Taylor Wimpey as a management trainee in 1985, Simmons has undertaken several directorial roles across the group, working within 11 of the homebuilder’s 23 business units.

He also held land director roles with other housebuilders between 1998 and 2005.

Taylor Wimpey Bristol has ambitions to grow both its landbank and unit volumes through the next two years. Simmons will lead the charge on these aspirations, along with a focus on employee learning and development.

“People and land dominate the life of an MD and these are my two main priorities, alongside putting customers at the heart of our decision making and delivering quality homes consistently to standards,”

said Keith Simmons, managing director of Taylor Wimpey Bristol.

He continued:

“We have ambitious growth aspirations for the coming years and, even against the backdrop of a global pandemic, demand for new homes across the region remains strong, so it’s important for us to continue supplying to meet requirements.

“With the many challenges the pandemic has presented, it’s important we’re able to deliver and exceed expectations in 2021, whilst maintaining a COVID-secure environment.

“2020 may have been a difficult year, but I’m excited to see where the role takes me in 2021, as well as witnessing the positive change we will no doubt make in the communities in which we build and beyond.”
