With plans for expansion, engineering specialists, Hydrock, have relocated from Solihull to a new space in Birmingham city centre. The move to Edmund Street would put the company at the heart of the city’s property and construction community. The Hydrock team worked alongside office design and build experts, Interaction, to create a space that would reflect the company ethos.

Hydrock’s commercial decision to relocate from the outskirts of Birmingham into the heart of the city centre was based on three key areas; Community, access and growth. With a number of attractive office spaces available, the Hydrock team decided that the Colmore Business District would best reflect their vision for the new Birmingham office. Graham Munday, Marketing Director at Hydrock, commented

“The location gives more immediate and direct access to construction professionals… it’s great to be able to pop out on Edmund Street for a quick coffee or informal meeting, that’s something we didn’t get in our previous location.”

Following growth and success with similar moves for their Manchester and Bristol offices, the transition began to take place in Birmingham. With a vision for continued long-term development, it was key to create a modern, bright and open space to reflect a progressive shift in culture. Graham Munday commented

“Interaction’s design reflects our goal to create a positive working environment… It is important for our long-term success to attract and retain younger, early career professionals.”

In working with Interaction on both the design and the fit out of the new office space, Hydrock now have a workplace that embodies their vision in the networking centre of Birmingham.
