Five or six fresh enquiries are being received a day ahead of the launch of new Redrow homes in the popular Birmingham suburb of Harborne.

Just under five miles south west of the city centre, Harborne is packed full of independent stores, boutique shops and a cosmopolitan array of bars and eateries. The area even has a Michelin starred restaurant, a golf club and a Waitrose supermarket.

Perhaps unsurprisingly then, award-winning Redrow has already amassed a database of almost 900 potential purchasers keen to know more about the forthcoming Knightlow Park development.

The 63-home venture, off Knightlow Road, is scheduled to launch in April and will offer a choice of three, four and five-bedroom designs from the sought-after Heritage Collection.

Those who’ve expressed an interest will be given an exclusive first look at the plans and have the pick of the properties.

Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), said: “The sheer volume of enquiries we’ve received about homes at Knightlow is evidence of the real need for housing in Harborne. People want to live here because of the area’s good schools, local amenities and easy access to Birmingham city centre, which is less than five miles away, but there’s a shortage of suitable homes available for them to buy.

“There’s been a surge in the number of people registering their interest in recent months and we’re now receiving five or six calls a day from potential purchasers. We’ll be working through the database to let people know that the homes will soon be available to reserve off-plan.”

The properties at Knightlow Park will combine traditional Arts & Crafts inspired architecture with high specification interiors designed to meet the demands of modern living including well equipped kitchens and stylish bathrooms and en-suites.

Subject to build stage, customers will be able to customise their new home using the My Redrow feature of the homebuilder’s website, selecting things like the finish of the kitchen cupboards and the bathroom tiles and adding optional extras.

Along with building the new homes off Knightlow Road, Harborne, Redrow has committed to providing two hectares of open space and other family friendly features. This will include a park area fitted with gym equipment for use by the local community. The award-winning housebuilder has also pledged £795,000 towards improvements at a local park to provide additional football pitches and a new sporting club house.
