Grant lifts Solihull security firm to new heights with a string of contract wins

A leading Solihull-based security specialist has made the most of a ‘little support’ to secure new contracts and expand its offering.

Integrity Security Group, which is on course to deliver a £3.5m record year in 2017, used a £20,000 grant from Birmingham City Council’s ERDF backed Business Growth Programme to buy a crucial piece of equipment and launch a new marketing campaign.

This has already led to a deal with West Bromwich’s Envira Ltd to upgrade CCTV and fire alarm systems, a deal that wouldn’t have been possible without the purchase of the Versalift – a 14.3 metre mobile elevated work platform.

“We have been growing 15% year-on-year since 2012 and, when you expand at this pace, it starts to create its own problems...so it’s nice to get some business support to help us manage these pains and make the most of opportunities,”

explained Will Adams, Managing Director.

“Jon Lander from Solihull Metropolitan Borough Council pointed us in the direction of the Business Growth Programme and we were assisted by Birmingham City Council with meeting the criteria, identifying areas where we could grow further and, importantly, filling in the application forms.”

He continued:

“We secured £20,000 of match funding against a £43,290 project that has given us a real boost in expanding our electronic security operation. With the escalating costs of employing staff, our customers are increasingly considering this form of security as opposed to manned guarding.

The Versalift gives us the ability to reach higher locations and to work in difficult environments where space is at a premium.”

Employing 150 people at its offices in Solihull, the Black Country and in Letchworth Garden City in the South East, Integrity has also embarked on a new marketing campaign.

This has involved the relaunch of its corporate website, search engine optimisation, additional corporate material and PR consultancy led by Cucumber PR.
