NVB Architects have collected Building Design Architect of the Year Award for Education at the annual Architect of the Year Awards.

Each year the award celebrates the very best architecture across the UK and the Frome based practice beat off tough competition to win the prestigious accolade.

The category for Education Architect of the Year (nursery - 6th) required a portfolio of school buildings and environments that are sustainable, well designed and inspiring.

NVB Architects focus is on combining architecture and landscape to create holistically designed spaces for learning in the UK. They recently won a Regional RIBA (Royal Institute of British Architects) for their work on Wootton Bassett Infants' School.

NVB Director, James McGillivray commented:

"It is wonderful to receive this recognition for our work. It is testament to the talented NVB team and the depth of understanding of schools that they have acquired over many years. We are particularly proud that this recognises a consistent portfolio of work rather than a one-off. Creating inspiring, vibrant and healthy school environments is what brings us to work each morning."

The Award was announced at a ceremony in London on October 17.
