Joint agents instructed to market leisure space for new West End residential towers

Colliers International has been instructed as joint agents to market the leisure space at Regal Property Group’s landmark residential scheme, The Bank, in the heart of Birmingham’s West End.

Located at the entrance to Brindleyplace, The Bank occupies a prominent position on the corner of Sheepcote Street and Broad Street. The scheme, which is currently under construction, will see two residential towers of 21 and 31 storeys built, delivering 400 luxury apartments with residents’ lounge, concierge facilities, shops, restaurants and gym. Practical completion is scheduled for June 2018.

Upon completion, Building One will provide 4,924 sq ft of leisure space with Building Two offering an additional 5,459 sq ft, both across ground floor and mezzanine levels. The site also includes a third, listed two-storey building which offers an additional 1,700 sq ft of leisure space across ground and first floors.

On the new instruction, Gary Bucknall, Associate Director, Colliers International, said:

“Birmingham has undergone somewhat of a leisure renaissance in recent years, boasting five Michelin-starred restaurants and welcoming a number of new entrants into the market, including The Ivy and Revoluciónde Cuba which will open premises in Birmingham city centre in 2018.

“The Bank is in an enviable position as not only will it boast a dedicated customer base from residents within the towers but it will also tap into two further distinctive captive audiences. By day, it sits within Birmingham’s principal business and banking district, with over 10,000 employees working within the immediate area of Brindleyplace; and by night, The Bank is at the centre of one of the UK’s biggest and most dynamic leisure hubs with the ICC and Birmingham Arena all within five minutes’ walk.

“As such, we expect to receive a great deal of interest for these units. The available space is suitable for a range of cafes, bars and restaurants and have been thoughtfully designed to make the most of the space, offering a degree of flexibility with the opportunity to include mezzanine levels where required.”

Colliers International will jointly market the ground floor bar/restaurant units for the scheme alongside Wright Silverwood.
