WPR emerged as the big winners of the CIPR Midlands Pride Awards on Friday.

The Edgbaston-based PR and digital agency took home eight awards at the annual ceremony, this year hosted at the Burlington Hotel in Birmingham, including seven for their work with one client alone, the UK’s leading pub retailer and brewer, Greene King.

One campaign, Glitter Gravy, for Greene King’s Hungry Horse brand, which aimed to raise awareness the chain’s festive menu, garnered four gold awards, including the Best Media Relations category, Best Use of Content, Low Budget Campaign and Consumer Relations.

A second Greene King campaign, also for the Hungry Horse brand, called Hungry for Summer, won for Best Use of Digital award and for Best Use of Social Media.

A final Greene King campaign, Crème Egg and Yorkshire Pudding, also won Silver in the Best Use of Social Media category.

On the night, WPR’s B2B team also went home a gold award, in the healthcare category, for their campaign on behalf of Birmingham-based BHSF called A High Wire with No Safety Net.

Managing Director, Jane Ainsworth, commented:

“This has been one of our best nights ever at the Midlands Pride Awards. Eight awards, including seven golds is testament to the hard work of our team, unrivalled creativity and outstanding digital execution. It is extremely gratifying to win for our work with Greene King, who were with us on the night, and have been so supportive of our ideas, no matter how ‘out-of-the-box’ they may, at first, have seemed. The campaigns have been fantastic to work on and I am so pleased that they have been recognised in this way.”
