Prestige Awards' Latest Commercial Photography Company Winner

It was their "personal touch, community feel and passion" that Warwickshire-based photography company MV Visual Media impressed the Prestige Award judges with this year. Founder Mark Varney and his partner Jo Powell have been selected as the winner of Commercial Photography Company of the Year - Warwickshire 2022. This award recognition demonstrates how their business's consistent hard work has paid off. It is a special award for MV Visual Media after successfully overcoming the devastating effects of the event industry closing during the lockdown.

Mark and Jo's personal relationship created a new dimension to the photography business when they joined forces in 2019 to take MV Visual Media from strength to strength - throughout the pandemic. The duo stripped back the company, rebranded, and came out fighting with more photography and videography services to companies in Warwickshire. They now offer streamlined commercial photography and videography services for brands and small and medium-sized businesses.

Mark is professionally trained and qualified with the British Institute of Professional Photography (BIPP) and Adobe Certified Associate (ACA). He can now add this prestigious award to his credentials too. Jo is a Mum and carer, so she gave up her teaching job to fully embrace self-employment to be able to fit work around her children and her commitments. She loves working with Mark in her new role as part of MV Visual Media and the flexibility and support she receives from Mark on their journey in life and business.

The Prestige Awards have run internationally for the last 16 years. They are now introducing regional awards to acknowledge smaller, independent businesses like MV Visual Media that are extremely successful nationally.

Mark and Jo's community-minded approach and determination to succeed in business against the odds are also reflected in their passion for charity. Their recent "Giving-Back Day," as Jo calls it, was spent creating a Santa grotto experience for children and adults with disabilities and mental health difficulties.

In contrast to the red carpet Prestige Awards event, which will be held in the new year, the award-winning duo ripped up the soaking wet carpet during their Christmas volunteering at the charity. They then cleaned the sludge underneath to make way for Santa's grotto. The final result is a safe, welcoming and inclusive place for the charity to house Santa for the festive season. Voluntary projects like this are on the MV Visual Media vision board to help with charitable work in the new year.

Mark said,

"I get to travel all over the UK to various locations, including restaurants, schools, hotels, on-site at building projects, conferences or black-tie events. But there is nothing like coming home to good news like this. Each year the Prestige Awards invites readers and contributors to put forward companies, products, services and individuals they feel deserve recognition. To be one of those companies recognised after all the challenges Jo and I have faced is truly overwhelming. We were thrilled to receive the email and hope this achievement brings us even more success. I am so glad we can share this award as a partnership in work and our relationship. We are so grateful for the Prestige Awards. We will also continue to give back to the community as much as possible."
