Opportunities don’t come much bigger than this. International online fundraising platform CharityStars is auctioning a Power Lunch with made.com and lastminute.com co-founder Brent Hoberman.
The lunch is an opportunity to sit down with one of the most successful businessmen of the internet era. This is your chance to engage with Brent on the subjects of e-commerce, technology and business.
Serial-entrepreneur Brent credits his success to the influence of his father and grandfather. He co-founded lastminute.com in 1998 and sold the business to Sabre in 2005 for $1.1 billion. In recent years Brent has helped to launch other dot-com companies, including viagogo, erepublik and wayn.com.
Brent is the chairman of made.com, an online furniture retailer based in London. Last year he floated the firm; this year he has focused on expanding it throughout Europe.
Brent is also a non-executive board director of the Guardian Media Group and is a governor of the University of the Arts in London. He sits on the UK Government’s Digital Advisory Board. Brent was awarded a CBE in 2015.
Money raised in the auction will support Founders Forum for Good, of which Brent is a member. This encourages tech leaders to give now, not later. The Founders Forum for Good helps tech entrepreneurs to add value to their companies as well as to the causes they love. Known as the Founders Pledge, this makes a real difference in the tech world as well as in the global community.
The auction is live now and can be accessed via the link below. Bidding closes on Thursday October 8 at 18:30 BST. The meal is expected to sell for around £4000 and will take place in London, and the auction price is inclusive of the meal.
