People Puzzles is delighted to introduce Alan Ball as its new Regional Director for the East Midlands region. Alan joins an ever-expanding team of HR experts who help ambitious businesses across the country to create high-performing teams and fast growth.
A fully qualified business and executive coach, Alan has a wealth of experience in running businesses. He took his first management role aged 23 and spent the subsequent 25 years running companies in the manufacturing, distribution, plumbing and healthcare sectors, including a two-year stint in Brisbane, Australia, where he turned around the fortunes of a plumbing business.
Over the last ten years, Alan has focused on executive coaching, with clients in Australia, the UK and the US. He was also chair at Vistage, the executive coaching specialist for small and medium-sized businesses, having gained an MSc in psychology and coaching. Alan also has an MBA, a law degree and a PhD in International Business. He has written a book, ‘Planning a Sustainable Turnaround’.
Now based near Newark in Nottinghamshire, Alan is starting to have conversations with businesses across the East Midlands – in towns and cities around Nottingham, Derby, Peterborough, Northampton and Milton Keynes – to explain what his team of HR Directors can offer growing businesses in the region.
His years as a business leader and executive coach means he fully empathises with the challenges that CEOs and Managing Directors currently face – and understands how a good people strategy is essential to the success of a business.

‘You need a good leadership and a great team around you to implement it. It doesn’t matter if the business is large or small, it’s the people who deliver on that success. And you need everyone pulling in the same direction to succeed.’
