Supporting the growth of business and finance skills across the region

The Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA), the world’s leading professional body of management accountants, announced today that John Hindson FCMA, CGMA has been elected as chairman of the CIMA West Midlands Area Board and will serve a two-year term.

Hindson will represent and champion the management accounting profession across the West Midlands area, from promoting the future of finance through to helping members and students grow their skills and competencies to stay fit and employable in the digital business world.

As finance professionals, management accountants play a key role in helping their organisations grow and prosper. They use their skills and competencies to combine financial and non-financial data, translate this information into meaningful and actionable business insights and lead the way for better decision making.

On his appointment, Hindson said:

“I am delighted to have been elected by my peers as chairman of the West Midlands Board Area. This marks an important milestone for me both at the personal and professional level, especially as we celebrate CIMA’s 100th anniversary this year. With so much happening in the world of business, I look forward to helping our members, students and their organisation adapt to this rapid pace of change and embrace the future of finance."

Hindson has been a CIMA member for over 35 years and part of the CIMA West Midlands Area Board for over 14 years. He is currently Head of Finance and Deputy CEO at the international development charity Build It International, which creates opportunities for young people and their communities through skills training and community building projects in Zambia.

Hindson previously held a number of senior finance roles in manufacturing and engineering companies across a range of industries for both SMEs and multinational organisations.
