A jobs fair in Weston-super-Mare last week designed to help give the town an economic boost has been declared a huge success by its primary sponsor AAA Recruitment.
The company, which specialises in tourism and hospitality and has offices at Oldmixon Crescent, says it was inundated with inquiries at the event at the town’s iconic Winter Gardens.
Managing Director, Andrew Tregenza, who has more than 20 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, said: “We had a very busy day and spoke to hundreds of people either looking for working or hoping to find new team members, so it’s been a huge success for us.
“We are committed to helping local people in the area find employment. Weston-super-Mare is expanding quickly and people are looking for the services we provide and the contacts we have when it comes to head hunting and matching employers and employees. The Jobs Fair attracted a wide range of employers looking for hundreds of talented people to fill vacancies and we were delighted to be involved.”
The event, which is designed to contribute to town centre regeneration, was organised by Weston’s MP John Penrose and his team.
Mr Penrose explained: “I’m proud that the jobs fair has become such a feature of Weston’s economic rebirth. After each event we get messages from local people telling us about their interviews, job offers and first days in a new role. It’s a great feeling.”
The Jobs Fair featured approximately 50 employers including national firms public sector employers and North Somerset-based companies who showcased their vacancies at the free-to-attend event.
Among the employers exhibiting were Alliance Homes, Weston College, McDonald’s, Pontins, Hinkley Point C, The Grand Pier, The Ascott Group, The Brandon Trust, Priory Learning Trust, Tax Assist Accounting, North Somerset Community Partnership and many more.
All of the directors and employees at AAA come from a hospitality background and understand the pressures of working in that environment.
