International professional project management firm unveils its new UK headquarters in Burton as rapid expansion sees a boost for jobs and training in the area.

Malone Group, which was established in Ireland in 1999, has welcomed a move to its brand new 5,500 square feet UK headquarters at Skyline Court, in Centrum 100, Burton.

Providing a main base for project delivery here in the UK the expansion has seen the company completely refurbish the new site while creating 25 new jobs in the town.

The move follows a series of acquisitions to vary the scope of the rapidly expanding business and provides the opportunity for up to 15 further roles in professional engineering and safety over the next 18 months in Burton.

Plans are also in place to offer employee training schemes to match their Engineers Ireland program so that the company can not only be at the forefront of the industry but also in developing the engineers of the future.

Stephen Malone, CEO at Malone Group, said:

“Burton is the perfect location for us to grow. Malone Group specialises in working with the food and drink and pharmaceutical industries which are both growth areas for this location.

“As a company we have been operating in the UK since 2012 and we are keen to vary our scope of expertise to offer more to our clients. Recent acquisitions and the move to the central UK headquarters makes that possible.”

With Malone Group also entering in to the North American market with a base in Calgary, Canada, it provides further opportunity for the Burton base to grow.

Opening the new site in Burton on Friday 26th January Burton’s MP Andrew Griffiths, who is also the Small Business Minister, called the new business a ‘boost for the area’.

MP Andrew Griffiths said:

“Malone Group’s relocation to Burton sends out a strong signal to the industry that the town is an innovative player in an ever-changing industry.

“Our location at the heart of the country puts us in a prime position and is just one of the reasons as a town we are seeing such growth in the industry.

“As Small Business Minister I am keen to develop further connections with the town’s successful businesses which are the life blood of our economy and the reason as a town we continue to thrive.”

Malone Group, which works with a variety of blue chip companies across Europe and Canada, offers a full project management service which ensures site safety, engineering and delivery are of the highest quality.

The move to the UK follows the company’s recent acquisition of recruitment company Mason James in Warrington, providing a further arm to the increasing team.

During the opening event more than 50 staff, clients and invited guests joined to mark the unveiling of the new headquarters.

Steve Parr, UK Engineering Director at Smurfit Kappa, one of Europe’s largest packaging companies, said:

“Malone Group has been instrumental in clearly identifying obsolescence within our factory operations and working with us to deliver sustainable solutions to overcome this with respect to PLC’s, drives, motors and developing software and energy control systems. With the additional services now available to Smurfit Kappa we are exploring options around how Malone Group could support our capital plans.”
