G&P has taken another major step in further strengthening its senior management team with the appointment of Mick Jackson as its UK Operations Director.

Mick has more than 30 years’ automotive experience, primarily with the most prestigious automotive OE’s including McLaren, Aston Martin and Jaguar Land Rover.

Within that, Jackson boasts extensive knowledge in all aspects of quality, project management, programme management, manufacturing engineering, supplier development and quality operations.

Mick said:

“I’m very excited to be taking on this role, helping G&P continue to provide an unparalleled service to its customers. Using my considerable automotive experience, I will support continuous improvement within operations, whilst building on the solid foundations established through the G&P award-winning Quality Excellence Model.

Indeed, G&P has enjoyed considerable growth in recent years and it is an extremely exciting time to be joining the senior management team.

Our strength in the automotive sector, and increasingly the aerospace industry, has been made possible due to the Quality Excellence Model, helping companies reduce waste and cost through the production of the right parts, first time, every time.”

G&P’s Quality Excellence Model has helped the company’s automotive and aerospace manufacturing customers reduce their levels of waste by more than £1.4bn in 2017. The Model was recognised for its potential when it was awarded the UK’s highest business accolade, The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2016.

Julian Dawes, UK Managing Director at G&P, said:

“G&P is delighted to welcome Mick as UK Operations Director. His vast automotive experience will be fundamental in ensuring that G&P’s customers continue to receive the highest levels of service that they have rightly come to expect.

It is thanks to our industry-leading reputation that G&P now works with most of the world’s leading vehicle manufacturers and their key suppliers at over 100 manufacturing facilities in the UK and overseas.

G&P is also transferring this expertise and experience into the aerospace industry, which shares many similar complex supply chain issues.”

Mick will be based at G&P’s global headquarters at Fort Dunlop, Birmingham.
