Leading hospitality laundry and linen supplier CLEAN has appointed Nigel Butterworth as its new Customer Operations Director.

Reporting directly to CLEAN Chief Executive Officer Jason Miller, Nigel will be responsible for delivering a customer-focused operating platform from the business.

In his new role, Nigel will lead the site directors and group operations team to help them continue to improve service delivery from CLEAN's seven laundry production facilities and meet necessary operational KPIs.

An officer with the Royal Navy for 13 years, Nigel left the forces in 2001 to work for Mars as Factory Operations Manager. He has since held senior leadership roles with Allied Bakeries, Unilever, Agrivert and Bakkavor.

He joins CLEAN from fresh food supplier Bakkavor where he was Head of Site Operations at Bakkavor Meals London. During his time at the company he helped forge a new identity and purpose at Bakkavor Desserts Newark, Bakkavor’s largest site, while increasing Ebitda by 20% in first full year and sustaining year-on-year Ebitda growth for three years.

CLEAN Chief Executive Officer Jason Miller said:

“Nigel has a wealth of experience in manufacturing and operations in top FMCG companies and we are thrilled he has joined us at CLEAN to oversee customer operations at such an exciting time for the business.

We are all passionate about developing our business to be best in class within the industry and are confident that Nigel will help us to further improve our operational performance.”

Nigel joins CLEAN in the year that the business opened a £15m world-class super laundry in Slough and invested £2.5m in its Yeovil laundry, creating an additional 90 jobs and improving the business as part of ongoing growth plans.
