Charlie Bending has been elected unopposed as Location Head of DAC Beachcroft’s Bristol office at Portwall Place. He will begin his term on 1 July 2020, when he will replace Nick Knapman, who steps down after two terms and four years’ leadership of the office.

Charlie joined DAC Beachcroft as a trainee and became partner in 2010 and now leads the firm’s surveyor professional risk team in Bristol. He specialises in advising property consultancies and their insurers in the defence of professional negligence claims.

With 59 partners and over 750 colleagues, DAC Beachcroft’s Bristol office is the largest in its global network of 11 UK and seven international locations. All of the firm’s main areas of practice are represented in Bristol, including its main sector focuses - Insurance, Health and Real Estate - as well as its Business Advisory Group.

It has raised £100,000 for Bristol charity Above and Beyond, which supports city-centre hospitals, is a leading supporter of the Lord Mayor’s Appeal for toys for disadvantaged children, and partners with Bristol Met, mentoring students and partnering with them on the Step Up To Serve campaign.

The firm won the Diversity, Inclusion & Wellbeing Award at the 2019 Bristol Law Society Awards, having won CSR Firm of the Year the previous year.
