Independently-owned national property consultancy, Bruton Knowles, is further extending its Birmingham based office team to support the development of the business in a strong regional market.

Driving forward the promising team of surveyors, Chris Brook, has been hired as Head of Property Management and Peter Hadley, Partner and Head of the Professional Services Faculty, moves over from the Worcester office.

Chris’ career has seen him work for the likes of GVA and Colliers International, and he brings a huge array of key skills with him, ranging from contract and client relationship management to strategic consultancy - a worthwhile investment for the property specialists.

The new appointments have been made with the company’s entrepreneurial spirit in mind and will allow the firm to drive growth, specifically in commercial property management, both regionally, as well as nationally.

Chris Brook, Head of Property Management, comments:

“I’m excited to join the Birmingham team and take on the challenge of driving the business further forward. With both business and residential property investments thriving in the area, it’s a chance for us to showcase our expertise, grow our client base and differentiate ourselves from our competitors.”

It’s been a successful year for business in Birmingham, with the region being crowned the Most Entrepreneurial UK City in 2018[1]. A number of upcoming projects including the HS2 trainline and developments ahead of the Commonwealth Games in 2020, make it a desirable area for property investment.

Bruton Knowles partner, Ian Pitt, comments:

“There is a huge opportunity in Birmingham for us to continue to build on Bruton Knowles’ strength in asset and property management. The whole team is enjoying progression in the respective skills that they deliver but the focus is now in commercial property management, hence the appointment of Chris Brook and the addition of Peter Hadley to the team.”

With more growth expected in the Birmingham area, Bruton Knowles continues to look into new opportunities for recruitment at all levels, including graduates.

One employee who made the most of the company’s graduate offering is May Dudley, who has recently been promoted to an Associate Surveyor. Based in Birmingham, May joined Bruton Knowles in 2013 as a graduate surveyor in the professional valuation team, becoming a Chartered Surveyor three years ago, after passing her APC, and has since become a very valuable asset to the Birmingham branch.

May Dudley, comments:

“Within my new role I am excited to be working on business development and initiatives to exceed our fee targets, helping me to gain valuable experience whilst driving company growth. Alongside this I will be supporting a team of graduates, helping them to pass their APC, and I aim to become an APC Assessor next year.”
