Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District (JQBID) is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Kim Loynes as Events Manager.
With six-years’ experience in marketing and events, and a resident of the Jewellery Quarter for three years, Loynes brings with her a wealth of knowledge on the local area that will provide pivotal to her role with the JQBID. The role will include organising and implementing a whole roster of activities within Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter, beginning with the planned activity for this year’s annual Jewellery Quarter Festival which will run from 22nd to 24th July.
Speaking about her new role, Kim Loynes comments: “One of the biggest things I look forward to contributing to the JQBID is organising a plethora of different activities that are fully inclusive and will show just how much the Jewellery Quarter has to offer, not only to the wider Birmingham or West Midlands audience, but also on a national scale, marking it as a unique, one-of-a-kind destination in its own right.”
Having graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in English Literature with Creative Writing, Loynes was previously an integral part of the marketing and events teams at BPS Birmingham Limited, Millennium Point and the University of Birmingham. She plans to fill up this year’s calendar with an array of activities ranging from networking, local community events and the annual JQ Festival.
Luke Crane, JQBID Manager, added: “Kim brings with her not only an experienced background in events, both on the smaller local side to those on a larger scale, but her knowledge of the Jewellery Quarter as a resident will prove invaluable in her role here at JQBID. This year’s festival is already shaping up to be fantastic occasion and with further events already in the pipeline Kim will ensure that the Jewellery Quarter maintains its reputation of being one of the best places to work, play and visit.”
The Jewellery Quarter Business Improvement District (JQBID) is a defined area within which the local business community will work together to deliver projects and services that improve the business environment and the experiences of visitors and service users. It delivers services additional to those provided by local authorities and other locally managed projects.
