Tamworth-based business Flightcase Warehouse has recently added further weight to its motorsport credentials with a jaw-dropping project for noted rally racing specialists, Viking Motorsport. Flightcase Warehouse was approached by the GP 4 Ford Escort experts to design and manufacture a truly unique custom-made flight case to store and transport a full Viking rally car.
Flightcase Warehouse’s bespoke arm – Pro Flightcase – successfully created an impressively large (W:5627 D:2437 H: 1747mm) protective case that will go on to store and transport a Viking Motorsport rally car during its stint travelling across the USA as part of a string of seasonal competitions. Featuring a reinforced yet lightweight steel base, gold-standard Penn Elcom fittings and specialised locking mechanisms, the innovative project really is geared up for any stress thrown at it.
Essentially a mobile storage unit, shipping container and protective case all in one, the solution guarantees minimum damage and contamination as the car journeys from course to course, even when under high-octane conditions.
