Specialist energy supplier Power Electrics has partnered with Impact to meet ambitious environmental business goals which includes the move to an all-electric fleet across its Bristol and Midlands bases.

Out with the old

The family-run firm has taken delivery of three refurbished electric Cat® lift trucks and one refurbished heavy-duty electric truck, all replacing older diesel-powered models, to reduce its emissions levels and provide a cleaner and healthier work environment for team members.

The refurbished forklifts will work six days each week, moving the company’s range of generators from storage and loading them on to customer-bound vehicles.

Environmental Aims

Power Electrics Director, John Pullin, says:

“The Impact team works very hard to align itself with what we’re trying to achieve as a business, and currently that means switching to an all-electric forklift fleet to support our environmental aims.

“The level of service we receive from Impact is fantastic. We return time and again for our materials handling equipment because of the strength of the team.

"Nothing is too much trouble for them – anything we need can be sorted with one phone call. You just can’t fault that level of service.”

Made to Order

Prior to placing the order, Power Electrics and Impact discussed the trucks’ intended use, how intensively they would be worked and whether any modifications or attachments were required.

“We had a frank conversation about our precise requirements and between us we decided that refurbished machines were more than sufficient for the trucks’ workload and day-to-day activities,” Pullin adds.

Before placing refurbished equipment with customers, Impact selects trucks with the best age profile, specification and low hours to match the required needs.

Its range of used equipment consists of the best trucks from its fleet that have been maintained to the highest standards from new.

Ahead of delivery, each refurbished truck is put through Impact’s rigorous seven-step refurbishment programme, and comes with full service history and extendable warranties.

Power Electrics was established in 1963 with a small yard and four generators. Today, the company’s founding family still runs the firm, and Power Electrics operates more than 1,000 generators and 15 delivery trucks, and employs 200 staff across four depots.
