The new Midlands Pavilion has been praised as an excellent springboard to develop new relationships and business leads according to a joint venture between Adducere and Willmott Dixon.
The Adjuto model, which has been devised by the two organisations, allows local authorities, universities and colleges, the NHS, police and fire services to benefit from a unique funding solution that could save ten per cent on project spend.
Jane Kemp of Adducere and Michelle Cotterill from Willmott Dixon both travelled as part of the Midlands delegation to MIPIM this year to discuss the model, which is aimed at unlocking public sector development.
Michelle said: “We enjoyed a very busy week at MIPIM, filled with business meetings and more informal networking events. The Midlands Pavilion was aimed at bringing together the region and we found it very useful in terms of forging connections with a huge number of different organisations.
“The real hard work starts now as we look to continue the dialogue with various different parties that we met in Cannes and discuss the ways in which Adjuto could help to unlock capital projects.”
During the week, Jane also took part in a panel event alongside David Bishop of Nottingham City Council and Richard Cowell from Birmingham City Council and MD of Scape Procure, Victoria Brambini which focused on innovative funding for the public sector and the challenges facing the public sector.
She said: “The public sector needs to be innovative and work with the private sector – and the increasing need for this collaboration became apparent during the debate. Nottingham City Council is keen to bring together all aspects of the development world together to achieve excellent results, while for Birmingham it is all about working in partnership and towards a shared vision.
“The public sector is leading the way in terms of urban regeneration, acting as a catalyst for development and social change in towns and cities across the country. But the pressure to deliver funding streams to finance such schemes is increasing. Adjuto offers an excellent solution for public sector bodies. Indeed, Nottingham City Council is already considering the model for schemes in the city.”
