Clugston Construction, part of the privately owned £160 million turnover Clugston Group, which employs 25 people at its offices in Bromsgrove, was joined by West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin, as work at Malvern Hills Science Park nears completion.
The MP was given a tour of the new £4.6m development and took up a trowel to assist in the building work as part of a traditional ‘topping out’ ceremony to celebrate the completion of the main structure.
The new building work, which is being carried out by Clugston Construction and Trebor Developments, is expected to be completed in January, before being taken over by defence technology company UTC Aerospace.
During the course of the development work over 20 local suppliers from the West Midlands area are being used, employing more than a 100 people.
Once completed the project will free up much needed space for new companies to move into the successful science park.

We have worked closely with our partner Trebor Developments to develop a cost-effective and innovative building which will provide a state-of-the-art base for a number of businesses.”
Harriett commented: “Last Christmas, I helped to dig the first turf on this impressive construction project and it is great to see such swift progress. I know we are all looking forward to the day when the keys are handed over to UTC Aerospace, which will allow them to move into a state-of-the-art HQ as well as freeing up space for new tenants to move onto the site.”
