Glossop Firm Gets Behind Local Manufacturers

Glossop marketing agency, FIG, is doing its bit to support local manufacturers, with the launch of its Great British Marketing campaign, designed to help manufacturing companies in Derbyshire and beyond to weather the tricky economic times ahead… and come out on top.

While the national press have been reporting on how well the sector is performing - with Markit CIPS UK recently reporting that the UK manufacturing sector had recorded its fastest growth for three years - they have also included notes of caution about the degree to which this growth can be sustained against a backdrop of Brexit, political uncertainty and market volatility.

Explained FIG’s managing director, Helen Duncan: “For over 15 years, FIG has been working with North West manufacturers to help them to achieve their business goals, whatever the economic climate.

“Through thick and thin, we’ve supported manufacturing clients such as Glossop’s Temperature Electronics Ltd (TEL) laboratory equipment firm, packaging company Glossop Cartons and Matlock intelligent transport system solution creator, Bartco UK, enabling them not only to grow their businesses, but to increase market share, break into new overseas markets and win awards.

“In 2017, the threats to the manufacturing sector are many, but so too are the opportunities, and we felt the time was right to do our bit to help manufacturing companies across the North West not only to survive the volatile climate, but to thrive.”

The firm has produced a document, Your Guide to Lean Marketing, which offers manufacturers some fundamental marketing advice, such as taking care to be clear about their marketing objectives and to properly identify the resource they have available, along with a summary of the benefits of using a professional marketing agency.

On the results his company has achieved with FIG’s marketing support, TEL’s director, Richard Eady, said: “A strong marketing campaign has enabled us to steadily increase our number of UK contracts as well as to expand globally. Our profile within the industry continues to rise, reminding customers why they should be doing business with us rather than our competitors.”

Starting life in 1996 as copy writing and communications business, First Impression, FIG rebranded in 2012. It is an integrated, full-service agency, providing in-house creative, digital and PR solutions for clients across a wide range of sectors, including education, manufacturing, food and drink, transport technology and charitable.
