The economy is in flux. While some manufacturers outgrow their facilities, others are forced to consolidate. Either way, that means moving vital, high value equipment. A tough ask, with serious safety considerations, but one that can now be efficiently handled by adi Group, having launched its new adi Machinery Installations & Relocations division.

The April launch further added to the more than 30 engineering services the Birmingham-based multi-disciplined engineering firm delivers to leading brands in the Automotive, Food, Beverage, Manufacturing, Aerospace & Defence, Pharmaceutical and Petrochemical sectors across the UK and Ireland from five regional manufacturing bases certified to BS-EN1090-1 standards.

Stephen Forrester, Managing Director of adi Mechanical which is taking the new division to market, said,

"Establishing our Machinery Installations & Relocations division is the latest step in our ongoing strategy to grow our range of services. We’ve made this investment to meet the needs of a market in which there is a clear decline in resource and capabilities.

That shortage means a lot of clients now look for single source partners for turnkey solutions, so we have invested in an in-house capability that evaluates and provides safe methods of lifting both light and heavy plant and other equipment and delivers a high-class alternative to third party contract lifts, with safe systems of work and detailed lift plans provided by a team of accredited experts.”

Meeting the needs of a fluid market, the adi Machinery Installations & Relocations offering has hit the ground running, working closely with other adi divisions to decommission lines and equipment, transport them and then re-install them in new facilities, before attaching the utility services, commissioning the plant and then on to final handover.

The new initiative serves as yet another example of adi Group’s ability to act as a one stop shop for engineering solutions, as the firm moves through the gears with growth plans aimed at doubling both its revenues and workforce by 2020.

adi Group CEO, Alan Lusty, whose vision and commitment have driven the business forward for almost three decades, explained the logic behind the new division further.

“We’ve always been about self-delivery and serving as a single source of solutions for leading manufacturers. So, adi Machinery Installations & Relocations adds a further string to our bow in that regard and allows us to bring certainty to an uncertain market by delivering across the board in a joined up way.”
