Birmingham’s new £1.5 million après ski style Heidi’s Bier Bar has been given a warm reception following its recent opening.

Over its opening weekend, around 2,000 people came through the doors of the Broad Street bar to experience the fun and cool vibes of Scandinavia’s popular Heidi’s concept.

Unit manager, Karina Sparks, said:

“The feedback has been fantastic, with guests of all ages commenting on how welcoming and fun Heidi’s is. Our team have played a key part in making the place even more special and have embraced the spirit of Heidi’s, so that the energy and party atmosphere has been like no other.”

A surprise feature and highlight for female guests has been the Disco Toilet, which activates when a big red button is pushed, activating smoke, disco lights and banging hits such as Abba and S-Club. “The disco toilet is one of those quirky features that has really caught the imagination of our guests. It sums up Heidi’s really, it’s a bit crazy, theatrical and joyous,” added Karina.

Operating over two floors, Heidi’s Birmingham has different zones including a relaxed bar area, dedicated games room with pool tables, beer pong and shuffleboards, karaoke stage and main party bar with dance floor and live music every Friday.

Decked out in responsibly sourced wood, the venue adopts an authentic Alpine ski lodge look and feel, where dancing on the tables is encouraged and drinks include a huge selection of draught beers served in traditional 1 pint dimpled glasses and 4 pint drink towers, Jägertrains, shots served in a pair of skis and table packages served in a sled.

Open from 4pm to 3am Monday to Friday (12noon on Saturdays and 8pm on Sundays), Heidi’s has weekly events including Bottomless Pizza Saturdays, Thursday Drag Bingo and a weekly Sunday Industry Night with great benefits for hospitality workers.
