The Black Bull, Sedbergh, Cumbria, is launching a totally new initiative for this spring and summer, ‘Stables Kitchen Residencies', which aims to provide start-ups and small food service businesses with an opportunity to take over their outdoor kitchen.

‘Stables Kitchen Residencies ' is the ultimate pop-up kitchen space, providing a perfect opportunity for all manner of small food service businesses to try out their tasty foodie creations on a discerning audience and help take their business ideas to the next level… and what's more we're offering the space totally Free Of Charge!

Cumbria's dining scene is famous for good reason. With our abundance of acclaimed eateries, from starry fine-dining restaurants to family-run establishments, there are plenty of great eats to be discovered.

But with so much competition out there, it makes sense that aspiring chefs and budding restaurateurs would welcome the chance to test-drive their concepts and take over the Black Bull's culinary incubator space to get real honest feedback and gauge their chances of success before a full launch.

Spaces are available for every weekend (except August Bank Holiday) from April onwards, so if you want to prove your foodie concept drop us a line and bag yourself a Thursday to Sunday slot, or discuss alternative possibilities.

There's a fully equipped kitchen plus everything else you need and a heap of space for diners. All you need to do is rustle up some interest and naturally some food, and get busy serving from 12pm until 9pm each day in order to make the most of your mini-residency.

What's in it for you is all the cash from the residency days you dish up and absolutely no costs other than your time, and of course the ingredients for the dishes you create.

What's in it for the diner? Pop-up kitchen residencies like this are a great way to discover the next big thing, whether that's a fresh new take on a popular cuisine style or something new and entirely unseen.

During each mini-residency the Black Bull's team will serve up a selection of craft beers, wines and spirits from The Stables Bar, providing your dining guests with an authentic outdoor 'bierkeller experience,' as they soak up the atmosphere, enjoy a drink and a bite to eat from your kitchen.

If you're interested in securing a slot to set up your food concept in this exclusive space and taking over the Black Bull's ‘Stables Kitchen Residency' this Spring or Summer then get in touch by dropping the team an email at bookings@theblackbullsedbergh.co.uk

The Black Bull's co-owner James Ratcliffe said:

"Nina and I cut our teeth serving street food at events and food markets across Manchester and the north of England before we progressed to owning our first restaurant. We know how hard it can be to test out your ideas and get honest feedback from the paying public, especially as you try to develop and grow your ideas, and ultimately your business.

Because we've been there, and because it's difficult at the moment for many fledgling businesses to even know where to begin, we felt that we wanted to be able to provide this opportunity to help. Despite the current circumstances it's still a time of creativity, with start-ups wanting to evolve their brands and grow, which is why we want anyone interested in a ‘Stables Kitchen Residency' to get in touch with us, so we can help them take that next step and become the area's future food entrepreneurs."
