The Granville Arms in Barford is to host a series of live music and comedy nights which are free to attend. The village pub was taken over in December 2021 by Tim Sidwell and Mark Williams from Ghost Inns Ltd who also manage The Cottage Tavern in Ashorne. They set about completely re-decorating The Granville, adding new furnishings, and upgrading the cellar system before opening to the public mid-January. The garden is currently being transformed featuring a new outside bar and a pergoda.

The first act to take place is David Barnes who will perform on Friday 1 July at 8pm. David captured the nations hearts when he took part in the BBC hit show “The Voice UK”. Since then, he has sung live at Wembley and Twickenham Stadiums for the Army and Navy Rugby match on Sky Sports in which 82,000 people attended. He has also recorded with Status Quo and Gene Simmonds from KISS at Wembley.

Other musicians to perform over the next few months include Mikey Rainsford on Friday 15 July and Alex Norman on Friday 6 August. Cabaret act Marty Smith will perform on Saturday 20 August, Singer Dan Knight on Saturday 27 August, Musician Hannah M Woof on Saturday 24 September and Drag Artist & Comedian Kitty Tray on Friday 4 November. Mark and Tim have also introduced a regular quiz night which takes place on the second Thursday of each month.
