AN OUTDOOR pursuits clothing and equipment store in Bristol has revealed that it is sponsoring an indoor climbing wall in the city from this month (August 2019) onwards.
Taunton Leisure – Bristol is supporting Redpoint Climbing Centre on Winterstoke Road in Bedminster as part of a long-term partnership, which includes discounts for members and prizes.

“This represents a significant link for us as the Centre is at the very heart of our local community here in Bedminster and provides a place for lots of people of different ages, from various backgrounds, to meet up to find out about climbing or to indulge in their favourite pastime. “This state-of-the-art climbing centre, based in an old art deco cinema has walls from 3-12.5m, including the infamous stalactite, meaning it has a huge amount to offer both beginner and competent climbers. It is vital to encourage young people into the sport and Redpoint actively does this with its various sessions for children aged from four and above.
“Redpoint was launched by a local climber, Tom Gape, in 2013. He collaborated on the design and construction with experienced climbers and wall designers to create the space.
“Redpoint offers a variety of sessions run by their qualified and enthusiastic instructors, so if you are new or your skills are a bit rusty, you really are in good hands. It also has a café and is very much a focal point for the area’s climbers, both young and old, and is an essential part of the city’s climbing community.
“We’re offering Redpoint members a 20% off recommended retail price discount and we’re also donating £1,500 worth of prizes throughout the year for the centre’s various competitions.”
Inspired by years of climbing on rock and indoor walls all over the world, Redpoint is well known for incorporating inventive structures, shapes and angles into its climbing facilities to create a 3D climbing experience.
