Liverpool’s food scene has really gone up a gear over the past four or five years and the variety and standard has raised for all to see. Now as we enter Summer the “Renshaw Street Food Market,” located close to the Berry Street, Bold Street and Leece Street junction, prepares to swing open its doors. The site is testing a soft opening from today, Wednesday 29th June from 11am until midnight.

The food market has a mix of world flavours with Italian, Thai, Chinese and Turkish to name but a few. As well as Jidong Bubble Tea.

The neon lights shining everywhere makes you feel like you are having a holiday in an Asian metropolitan. The Food Market introduces leading international brands into Liverpool, which includes Dagu Rice Noodle (300 restaurants in China, USA, New Zealand and Dubai) , Nduo Sushi ( over 3000 shops in China, South East Asia and Australia) and Zhengxin Fried Chicken (over 20,000 shops around the world).

Renshaw Street Market proprietor, and Jidong Bubble Tea entrepreneur Xiaoyu Zhou, known affectionately as Joe to his friends and customers, said:

“We are excited to be launching Renshaw Street Food Market this month after a long fit out of the premises and waiting on covid restrictions to be finally all dropped levels. We feel that the balance of cuisines on offer will be hugely popular with local clients and visiting tourists alike, who love to experiment and try out every type of cuisine. Now they will get the chance to sample any dish they choose from our vendors, which is wonderful for casual diners.”

The food market itself contains 11 different food units as well as a licensed bar.

Joe continued

“Although the Renshaw Street Food Market has an Asian theme running through its core there are also mediterranean and middle eastern vendors. So whether it's a chinese bubble tea or quick pasta lunch there are options to suit everyone.”

There is a sense of hope and excitement in Liverpool’s hospitality scene for a bright 2022 and on into 2023. The city is starting to feel alive again after a tough 2 years of the pandemic. Renshaw Street Food Market is aiming at carving out its own niche, celebrating authentic Asian-based food as well as other continents for everyone to share.
