LUKAS Grzesik has been officially appointed as the new Head Chef at The River Parrett Restaurant in Bridgwater this month (August 2018).
The 30-year-old, who lives in the town, previously worked in Sweden as Head Chef for a large restaurant, Twin City, in Jonkoping and also at Hotel Fjallet in Bjorkliden on the arctic circle.
Lukas, who is a father-of-two, said:
“It’s wonderful to have been given this opportunity to work here in such a wonderful part of the UK using some of the Westcountry’s best ingredients and locally sourced produce. “My day-to-day role at The River Parrett Restaurant involves managing the kitchen team, the development of the restaurant concept overall and creating new fine dining dishes to add to the menu.
“I am looking to enhance and build on The River Parrett Restaurant’s already excellent reputation in the area as a fine dining restaurant. In Sweden, I was Head Chef in a fine dining restaurant that can seat 300 people.”
The River Parrett Restaurant gives a modern British brasserie feel, offering informal, high-end food with the focus on providing a quality customer experience.
Owner of the Salmon Parade business, Mariusz Muskietorz, who also owns the Maja Delicatessen in Bridgwater, said:
“We’re delighted Lukas has joined us here at The River Parrett Restaurant and is running the team and developing our menus for us. “His extensive experience also means he will be really important in helping us push the creative direction of the restaurant. The quality of our food is vital to what we do and it’s a major break-through for us to have found someone now who is both talented in the kitchen and dedicated to taking the team forward.”
The restaurant offers a seasonal menu using fresh, British produce. It provides a choice of lunchtime and evening dishes. All its food is freshly prepared on the premises and its ingredients are sourced locally.
Lukas added:
“I am committed to using, wherever possible, the best seasonal and local produce from suppliers in the area and I am looking forward to creating some wonderful dishes for our diners.”
