Mayor opens new River Parrett Restaurant at VIP event

Bridgwater’s Mayor Councillor Graham Granter officially declared the town’s newest place to eat out open last month.

The River Parrett Restaurant, formerly The River Parrett Inn, opened with a grand, invitation-only launch on Wednesday, November 8 and is now taking bookings for lunches and evening meals.

Owner of the Salmon Parade business, Mariusz Muskietorz, who also owns the Maja Delicatessen in Bridgwater, explained:

“We were delighted the Mayor, Cllr Granter and Mayoress, Mrs Kay Granter were able to join us for our launch party. We invited lots of other guests from businesses, organisations and the local community, and are now taking bookings for the weeks and months ahead.

“We love Bridgwater and are committed to the town. It is expanding fast and we know people are looking for new, interesting and exciting places to eat out. We’ve invested significantly in giving the property a much-needed refurbishment and have recruited local people too.”

The restaurant, which will also have B&B rooms added at a later date, has a modern British brasserie feel, offering informal high-end food, with the focus on a quality customer experience.

“We provide a choice of lunchtime and evening dishes, as well as festive party menus for anyone booking their office or works staff party in the run up to Christmas. All our food is freshly prepared on the premises and our ingredients are sourced locally.”

The new restaurant, which cost more than £200,000 to create, is open seven days a week, all year around, including Christmas and Boxing Day.
