Twycross Zoo is excited to announce it is to be the first place in the Midlands to host the BRICKLIVE Big Cats exhibition, which will be available every day of the Summer Holidays from the 13th July. This unique collection of LEGO® brick models will join a fantastic summer line up following the announcement of the arrival of two new resident Sumatran tigers earlier this month.

The BRICKLIVE BIG CATS exhibition includes 12 awe-inspiring LEGO® brick models - and allows visitors to get up close to some of the world’s most magnificent felines!

The models include everything from the lion cubs, Liam and Lita, to Padma the Panther and Lenora the African leopard. Made up from a total of almost 750,000 bricks, and taking the equivalent of 1 year 4 months to build, visitors are sure to be blown away by the meticulous detail of each build and the collection. LEGO® fans both young and young at heart can marvel at these special creations, and gain an insight in to how these masterpieces were made, inspiring them for their own next LEGO® project.

Big Cat’s really are stealing the show this Summer, following the arrival of the Midland zoo’s newest residents, Jahly and Sialang, a pair of critically endangered Sumatran tigers, who are living in their state of the art purpose built habitat which includes an impressive 15m glass tunnel right through the centre! Also not to be missed are the beautiful Snow leopards and critically endangered Amur leopards, both some of the rarest big cat species on the planet!

Karen Clarke, Chief Operating Officer at Twycross Zoo, said:

“This summer is a real milestone in Twycross Zoo’s history as we welcome back Sumatran tigers as part of a vital European breeding programme to help to protect the critically endangered species. Providing visitors with a unique chance to also see the magnificent BRICKLIVE BIG CATS models is the icing on the cake to an already fabulous day out.

“Summer 2019 is going to be one to remember at Twycross zoo and we can’t wait to welcome visitors to enjoy meeting our animals and amazing LEGO® brick felines.”
