New limited edition ice cream flavours are drawing in visitors from across the region to Bluebells Farm Park Halloween Festival, just a 15-minute drive from Derby city centre.

This year's exclusive autumnal flavour is Spiced Pumpkin Latte, offering the chance for visitors to capture the perfect Instagram shot amongst the pumpkin patch. And for those looking to get into the Halloween spirit can opt for the return of popular ‘Deathly Mallows', which turns your tongue black.

Each year, the family farm park and micro-dairy releases new seasonal flavours which are available for a limited time only. They sit amongst the impressive variety of 29 flavours of luxury artisan ice cream and sorbet that the Brown Family have been producing on-site since 2007.

Ella Brown, co-owner at Bluebells Farm Park, said:

"The return of Deathly Mallows this year has already gone down a storm, especially with little ones as they can give people a fright with their spooky black mouth! We launched the flavour back in 2019 and bring it back every year due to popularity."

Ella described the Deathly Mallows flavour as ‘triple cream' sprinkled with marshmallows, and the striking black colour comes from activated charcoal as it acts as a natural food colouring.

"Each year we bring out new, whacky seasonal flavours that you can't find elsewhere. When thinking about flavours for this year, we thought what screams autumn? It had to be pumpkin spice! The flavour is everywhere in latte form, so we wanted to bring this into the perfect ice cream treat for the big kids visiting the farm."

Visitors can grab a scoop of ice cream from the on-site parlour or takeaway a tub after their visit to the Halloween Festival, which has been a staple of the Bluebells Farm Park's calendar.

Tickets for this year's event, which started on October 14 and runs every weekend until October 31, have been selling out fast.

Described as ‘bigger and better than ever before', the event sees the return of the popular Pumpkin Village for those looking to pick their own pumpkin and fancy-dress parade, as well as daily spooky shows and farm adventures.

Brand new to this year is the addition of a witch's potion class and celebrity-inspired scarecrows in the maize maze, where visitors can get selfies with ‘Dead Sheeran' and ‘Ghost Malone'.

The four autumnal flavours are available until stocks last – Spiced Pumpkin Latte, Sour Apple, Deathly Mallows and Toasted Toffee.

Admission to the event starts from 10am and costs £13.50 for an adult and £13.95 for a child. Every paid-for child will receive a free pumpkin to carve, which can be taken home and displayed over the spooky season.
